White House Press Secretary Shuts Down 'Pitiful' Feud Rumors Started by the Mainstream Media

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt shut down "pitiful" media rumors of a feud between Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Elon Musk.

"Everybody is on board with President Trump's mission," Leavitt said on "Fox & Friends Weekend." She praised Musk and Rubio, calling them "incredible" in their roles.

Trump’s team is strong, she insisted. "The mainstream media is working overtime to divide President Trump from Elon and his cabinet, but their attempts are failing," she said. "Everybody is working as one team towards one goal—to make America great again."

Rumors took off after The New York Times reported on a clash between Musk and Rubio. The dispute allegedly happened behind closed doors over USAID job cuts.

Rubio reportedly defended himself, saying that over 1,500 State Department employees had already taken Trump’s buyout offers. He argued those should count as layoffs.

Trump dismissed the report. He called NBC’s Gabe Gutierrez a "troublemaker" for asking about it during a World Cup Task Force signing in the Oval Office.

Leavitt confirmed Sunday that "no such feud" exists. "All is well" between Musk and Rubio, she assured.

"The [cabinet] meeting was highly productive," she added. "It was an open discussion, exactly what the president's team should be doing to implement his goals."
