Tom Homan Doesn't Hold Back When Talking About Dem Support of Alleged MS-13 Gang Member

Trump administration “border czar” Tom Homan is slamming Democrats for defending Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a deported migrant now facing fresh scrutiny over domestic abuse allegations. “We removed a public safety threat,” Homan said Thursday on America Reports. He argued that new revelations confirm the administration’s decision.

A 2020 protective order in Maryland accuses Abrego Garcia of repeated abuse toward his wife, Jennifer Vasquez Sura. The filing alleges he kicked, slapped, and detained her against her will. She also claimed he emotionally abused her children.

One chilling detail involved a recorded threat. Vasquez Sura said Abrego Garcia told her ex-mother-in-law, “Even if he kills me, no one can do anything to him.” The abuse allegedly escalated in 2019 when he grabbed her by the hair and shoved her into a wall. She filed another petition in 2021 citing similar violence.

Homan says Democrats are supporting the wrong person. “I hope Democrats keep going down there [to El Salvador],” he said. “They’re showing the American people they’re supporting a gang member, terrorist, public safety threat, wife beater rather than meeting with the angel moms and dads.”

The Trump administration defends the deportation, though officials admitted it was a clerical error. Immigration records show police in Maryland flagged Abrego Garcia as MS-13-connected after a 2019 loitering arrest. His lawyers claimed he was only looking for work.

Authorities cited his tattoos, gang clothing, arrest with a suspected MS-13 member, and a tip from an informant. In 2022, Abrego Garcia was stopped in Tennessee while driving a car registered to a known human smuggler. He wasn’t charged, but suspicions lingered.

Democrats, including Sen. Chris Van Hollen, argue he was wrongly deported. The Supreme Court recently upheld an order requiring the administration to help facilitate his return. But El Salvador’s president has refused to allow it.

“Were we supposed to go into a sovereign nation and kidnap one of their nationals?” Homan said. He pointed to President Nayib Bukele’s refusal, noting that Abrego Garcia is an El Salvadoran citizen. “Bukele’s made it clear.”

Some say Garcia was denied due process. Homan disagrees, saying immigration courts ruled on the case. “They can keep playing that game. It’s a loser for them. We’ll keep doing what we’re doing,” he said of Democratic lawmakers visiting El Salvador.

Homan also hit back at critics of Trump’s immigration policies. “We knew the fight was coming and we’re going to take that fight on,” he said. “Day one, we knew it would be the courts, the Democrats — but we’re not backing down.”
