Andrew Cuomo Says President Trump's Pandemic Relief Executive Order on 'Shaky Ground Legally'

New York Governor Andrew Coumo ripped President Trump's executive orders on pandemic relief. He called them ineffective and probably illegal.

“It’s on shaky ground legally,” Cuomo said during a press conference on Sunday. “But even to the extent that he’s executed executive orders, they aren’t going to meet the demand.”

Trump's Friday orders included an extra $400 for unemployment and delayed payroll taxes on those making less than $104,000 per year.

“The executive orders will not be a substitute for legislation,” Cuomo said. “Just by law, you’re not going to be able to do what you have to do by executive order.”

President Trump's orders state that states have to pay 25% of the unemployment benefits, which was something Cuomo strongly disagreed with. He called it "just laughable" and added “you can’t now say to states, ‘Oh, have no funding and you have to pay 25% of the unemployment insurance cost.”
