Actor Rainn Wilson acknowledged the presence of anti-Christian prejudice in Hollywood.
The ex-lead actor of "The Office" commented on episode 8 of "The Last of Us" on HBO Max, where the main character Ellie comes across a group of survivors headed by a cult leader who practices cannibalism and often cites the Bible. The episode is titled "When We Are In Need".
“I do think there is an anti-Christian bias in Hollywood. As soon as the David character in ‘The Last of Us’ started reading from the Bible I knew that he was going to be a horrific villain,” Wilson tweeted. “Could there be a Bible-reading preacher on a show who is actually loving and kind?”

Based on the video game of the same name, "The Last of Us" is a post-apocalyptic series. In the gripping finale of episode 8, David (played by Scott Shepherd) attempts to sexually assault Ellie, prompting her to act in self-defense and ultimately kill him.
Many people on Twitter agreed with Wilson's points.
“Defamation of Christianity has become the most unoriginal and tired cliches in movie/TV series storylines. It’s prevalence is much more than a bias against an entire people, it is meant to undermine faith and position the secular-minded as only ones with altruistic intentions,” LIBRE Initiative president Daniel Garza tweeted.

Wilson's supporters may have been taken aback by his acknowledgment of this Hollywood truth, given his reputation as a vocal leftist, particularly on Twitter. In fact, in November, the 57-year-old actor even altered his name on Instagram to "Rainnfall Heat Wave Extreme Winter Wilson" to raise awareness about climate change.
