Ted Cruz Pokes Fun at First Lady Jill Biden: 'Rules For Thee, But Not For Me'

A widely circulated photo on the internet shows First Lady Jill Biden using a gas stove, while the Biden administration is reportedly considering a ban on such appliances.

"Hey @Antoni, what's on the menu tonight?" Biden wrote on Twitter in September 2020, along with a photo of herself cooking on a gas stovetop. She directed the question to Canadian chef and television personality Antoni Porowski.

A photo of former Vice President Joe Biden cooking on a gas stove surfaced online shortly after a report by Bloomberg indicated that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is considering a ban on gas stoves due to concerns about indoor air pollution caused by the appliances.

"FLAG ON THE PLAY: That is a GAS Stove........ Shameful," another person tweeted.

Approximately 35% of households in the US are equipped with gas stoves, which are known to release carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, and other pollutants that the World Health Organization and the EPA consider harmful for various reasons.

CPSC Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. told Bloomberg that the commission may release a proposal on the subject of gas stove ban as early as this year, and that it would be on the "fast track".
