Conservative podcaster Megyn Kelly has made no secret that she thinks Donald J. Trump is the guy for the Republican Party in 2024.
"I just don't think anybody else could win if Trump runs," Megyn said to Dave Rubin.
"You don't think that DeSantis is crafty enough or the record stands enough?" Rubin asked.
"No," Megyn emphatically answered. "No, I don't even think that a little. I think Trump sucks up all the energy in every room no matter what. And even someone as skilled as a politician and smart policy-wise as DeSantis can't overcome that. He can't. The only way DeSantis is going to become the Republican nominee is if Trump chooses not to run and endorses him," she continued.
So it may come as a surprise that she wasn't more enthusiastic when Trump made his announcement for 2024.
“He kind of did disappoint a little last night, not to be too hard on him,” Kelly said on the Wednesday episode of her podcast. “I know he was trying to do presidential and he was trying to not screw anything up for Herschel Walker, but he did seem a little low energy. I was slightly bored.”
Kelly took it a step further, admitting, “I’m not going to lie, I did fall asleep before the end of the hour.”
“Now, I’m getting old and my kids wake me up early, but I did doze off,” she said. “And that’s just unprecedented for a Trump rally.”
Wow. Didn't see that coming. That could be a bad sign for Trump in 2024.
