Jon Stewart, comedian and former host of The Daily Show, has definitely proven he leans more than a little to the left over the years. That said, he's still able to call it like he sees it on both sides of the aisle every once in a while. This is one of those instances.
In the latest episode of his Apple TV+ podcast “The Problem with Jon Stewart,” Stewart discussed the Hunter Biden laptop story and how it was buried as "Russian disinformation." He discussed with British journalist Gabriel Gatehouse about how this was an erroneous conclusion for the media.

Stewart said, “Let’s say it was real and people just thought, well, the one thing in it maybe is 10% to the big guy, which is circumstantial at best. But as far as like, look, Hunter Biden being on the board of –”
“Burisma,” Gatehouse interrupted.
“To me, that’s corruption, straight up off the bat,” Stewart said.
Stewart argued that the corruption of Hunter Biden's Ukrainian business ties surpasses the laptop scandal.
“The idea that nepotism would allow much larger amounts of money to flow into the hands of people unqualified, to be in the positions that they’ve been accepted because you think those countries are trying to buy influence. Yeah. Welcome to the fucking world. And I think I think it’s a huge problem on its face. Forget about any secret laptop.”
Gabriel Gatehouse admitted that at first he completely brushed off the laptop story.
“Well, big mistake. It turned out the laptop was real,” he said. He also pointed out that none of the media outlets have come clean and admitted they botched the story by writing it off as fake, despite authenticating the laptop.
“There’s was no kind of, oh my God, we really really fucked up there because we suppressed this story three weeks out from an election. It was just like, yeah but we looked at it and it’s just kind of, oof, business as usual.”
You may say "that's not stunning at all." Well, you're right. But seeing who it's coming from is what makes it stunning. Even uber-liberal Jon Stewart is seeing the light.
