As the holiday season approaches, with Thanksgiving and other festivities on the horizon, shoppers are flocking to Costco with a particular bakery delight in mind: the beloved pumpkin pie.

Susan Schwartz, author of "The Joy of Costco: A Treasure Hunt from A to Z" alongside David Schwartz, shared with FOX Business in October an astonishing figure: around 6 million of these pumpkin pies are sold during this period.
This year, the sizable pie has been priced at $5.99, a detail reported by various sources.
Costco began stocking their warehouses with pumpkin pies towards the end of August, as reported by Delish. The retail giant boasts over 590 locations across the U.S. and an additional 270 stores in 13 different countries.

Historically, the days leading up to Thanksgiving have seen a surge in pumpkin pie sales at Costco. Specifically, the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday before the holiday have been particularly busy. For instance, in 2019, about one-third of the total 6.3 million pies sold by Costco that year were purchased during this three-day period, as noted by People magazine.
In other news, the American Farm Bureau Federation recently revealed that the cost of a typical Thanksgiving dinner for 10 people is expected to be $61.17 this year. This figure was arrived at after considering the prices of various items such as turkey, pie shells, pumpkin pie mix, dinner rolls, and eight other components. Interestingly, this price shows a 4.5% decrease compared to the previous year, as highlighted by the AFBF.
