Oh wow. On Tuesday, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden's campaign declared that Biden can still win the general election without winning Pennsylvania and Florida. Both states are major battleground states, with rich electoral votes.
Jennifer O’Malley Dillon, Biden's campaign leader, said during a virtual election protection briefing that there are many paths to the White House and that they do not need Pennsylvania and Florida to win.
“While we believe we can win all four of them, and we are doing everything in our power to do that, we don’t need to win them and that’s a true luxury,” O’Malley Dillon said. “We don’t need to win any of these four big states in order to still get to 270 electoral votes.”
Pennsylvania is worth 20 electoral votes and Florida is worth 29 electoral votes. In swing states, that is a potential 49 votes that would be crucial for victory.
