According to the House Oversight Committee, which is investigating Hunter Biden's business transactions, bank records indicate that Rob Walker, a close associate of the Biden family, employed his company to move money from a Chinese energy firm to Hunter Biden, James Biden, Hallie Biden, and an anonymous individual with the last name "Biden." This information was disclosed on Thursday.
The records indicate that Hallie Biden, the widow of Beau Biden, who was romantically involved with Hunter Biden for a brief period, received two transfers totaling $35,000 in 2017. According to House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., Chinese company Energy HK Ltd. transferred $3 million to Rob Walker, a Biden family associate, just prior to those transfers.
Subsequently, Walker transferred hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Biden family.
"Everyone says it was an energy deal," Comer said on Fox News. "Well, it looks to me like these people, who were closely aligned with the Chinese Communist Party, sent $3 million to a shell corporation and then they turned around and split it three ways with one-third going to the Biden family, three different family members for no apparent reason."
Comer stated that Walker instigated the transfers two months following Joe Biden's departure from the Vice Presidency.
"A fourth bank account identified as an unknown "Biden" also received money. "We are continuing to investigate the identity of this account holder," the committee said.
"From the bank records, it appears that the Biden family received approximately one-third of the money obtained from the China wire.
"Ultimately, the American people deserve transparency into the extent of the Biden family's influence peddling. We intend to deliver legislation that will preclude family members from capitalizing on their relatives' public office as we suspect the Bidens to have done."
Ian Sams, a White House spokesperson, retorted, "After a disgusting attack lamenting that the president's deceased son Beau was never prosecuted while he was alive, Congressman Comer has now decided to go after Beau's widow.
"Instead of bizarrely attacking the president's family, perhaps House Republicans should focus on working with the president to deliver results for American families on important priorities like lowering costs and strengthening health care."
Sams continued: "Hunter Biden, a private citizen with every right to pursue his own business endeavors, joined several business partners in seeking a joint venture with a privately owned, legitimate energy company in China.
"As part of that joint venture, Hunter received his portion of good faith seed funds which he shared with his uncle, James Biden, and Hallie Biden, with whom he was involved with at the time and sharing expenses. The accounts so dramatically listed by Representative Comer belonged to Hunter, his uncle and Hallie — nobody else."
