Unexpected Trend Growing in Bars Across America

In recent years, the trend of bars offering non-alcoholic cocktails, commonly known as "mocktails," has been gaining popularity.

This movement is particularly prominent among Generation Z and Millennials, who are increasingly choosing healthier lifestyles. NielsenIQ, a renowned data analytics company that tracks consumer buying habits, has observed significant growth in this trend.

This shift in drinking culture is evident nationwide, with non-alcoholic beverage bars emerging in various locations, from major cities like Philadelphia and New York City to smaller towns such as Racine, Wisconsin.

Reflecting this growing demand, a new non-alcoholic bar is set to open in Raleigh, North Carolina. This establishment aims to provide an enjoyable nightlife experience without the downsides of alcohol consumption, such as hangovers, offering patrons the chance to have a full night out while maintaining their health and well-being.

The Umbrella Dry Bar, Raleigh's latest addition to the non-alcoholic bar scene, is gearing up for a grand celebration on New Year's Eve, preceding its official opening on January 5th.

Meg Paradise, the owner, shared that the bar initially began as a pop-up concept. Its increasing popularity led to the decision to establish it as a permanent venue.

Paradise expressed her desire to create an environment where patrons can enjoy a social setting without the pressure to purchase alcoholic drinks.

This initiative aligns with the growing trend of offering inclusive and health-conscious alternatives in nightlife experiences.

"It’s a Wednesday so I’m not gonna drink, then you go up to the bar and you kind of freeze, and you’re like what do you have, and ya know it’s sort of just a weird situation," she said.
