President Donald Trump shared the stage with several Pittsburgh Steelers players during a campaign stop at the U.S. Steel plant in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, on Friday.
Quarterback Mason Rudolph, safety Miles Killebrew, and Steelers legend Rocky Bleier joined Trump to present him with a custom No. 47 jersey. The number reflects Trump’s bid to become the 47th president.
“I have the honor of making you an honorary Pittsburgh Steeler and would like to present to you your jersey,” Bleier said as he handed it over.
Trump introduced each of the players, giving special praise to Rudolph. “I think he’s going to get a big shot,” Trump said. “He’s tall. He’s handsome. He’s got a great arm. And I have a feeling he’s gonna be the guy.”
He then turned to Killebrew, describing him simply as a “killer” on the field, earning cheers from the crowd. Trump joked that he wouldn’t want to be tackled by the hard-hitting safety.
Trump’s popularity with professional athletes has grown throughout his second term. Football players, in particular, have embraced him both on and off the field.
His signature dance move even became a go-to touchdown celebration during the 2024 NFL season, adding to his growing support in the sports world.
