A TikTok user named Bree Green, also known as @breezydoll, has gained over 1.2 million views by showing viewers how to make a McDonald's breakfast sandwich at home using Trader Joe's Dutch Griddle Cakes.
These griddle cakes apparently resemble the pancake-like bun on the McGriddle, a popular McDonald's breakfast sandwich that features "soft, warm griddle cakes with the taste of sweet maple" and holds a "savory, sizzling hot sausage," according to the McDonald's website.
The new Trader Joe's product has gained popularity among customers who want to recreate the McGriddle sandwich at home.

Bree Green, a TikTok user known as @breezydoll, discovered Trader Joe's Dutch Griddle Cakes during a recent trip to the grocery store and was inspired to create her own version of the iconic McDonald's breakfast sandwich. Green's recipe can be made with or without meat, using a Trader Joe's frozen chicken apple sausage pattie or no meat at all. She also tried placing a Trader Joe's Eggwich breadless breakfast sandwich between the griddle cakes to find the best way to duplicate the McGriddle sandwich.
"I absolutely love Trader Joe's, and there’s one about 3 minutes from my house so I go frequently to catch the new items," Green told FOX Business. "When I saw the Dutch Griddle Cakes in the frozen section my eyes also panned over to the Eggwich’s and it was an ‘aha moment,'" she added. Green filmed the process and shared the results on TikTok, which quickly gained popularity among fans of both Trader Joe's and McDonald's.
The McGriddle is one of the most popular breakfast sandwiches offered at McDonald's. Its hashtag has amassed over 250 million views on TikTok.
Green showed two different options for making the sandwich before determining the Eggwich was the best option for duplicating the McGriddle.
If you're interested in trying this imitation, you may need to act fast as some Trader Joe's stores are reportedly running out of the new Dutch pancake product.
