In an act of solidarity with indigenous people, protesters have targeted statues of Christopher Columbus in Virginia and Massachusetts.
In Richmond, WV the 8-foot-tall statue of Columbus was taken down with ropes and dragged about 200 yards to Landing at Foundation Lake, per the Richmond Times-Dispatch. According to reports it was also lit on fire and the base of it was covered with graffiti.

CBS Boston reported on another statue of Columbus being beheaded overnight in Boston.
Protesters continue to apply the belief that erasing history is going to change the course of the future.
Christopher Columbus isn't the only historic figure being targeted. Confederate monuments honoring Robert E. Lee and other figures are being targeted in Southern states.
