Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene told a New York Times reporter several times that she’s in “continuous” discussions with former President Donald Trump about being his running mate if he were to run for president in 2024.
This is despite Trump making an official announcement for 2024 and has never said anything publicly about selecting a running mate. Despite that, MTG is becoming a more and more prominent figure at various Trump events across the country, from the LIV golf event at Bedminster, New Jersey to other rallies and events all over the country.

“What Greene possesses that Trump so craves is loyalty,” New York Times Magazine writer Robert Draper told Ali Velshi on MSNBC.
“She has always been there for Trump. She has always had his back. After [Trump’s] experience with his last running mate, Mike Pence, it’s clear that he’s going to prize loyalty above all else,” Draper added.
According to Draper, Greene and Trump have been involved with these talks for months. Draper also pointed out “it’s very likely that Trump has had this conversation with half a dozen other people, too.” Still, he continued, “I wouldn’t count [this] out.”
After the way things ended with former Vice President Mike Pence, Trump most likely has loyalty at the top of his priorities and Greene would provide that.
