BJ's Wholesale Club announced plans to expand this year. They aim to open more stores nationwide.
Five new locations are expected to create 150 jobs each. This Massachusetts company competes with giants like Sam’s Club and Costco.
Florida will see two of these stores, in Palm Coast and West Palm Beach. The others will be in Carmel, Indiana; Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and Maryville, Tennessee.
Bill Werner, BJ's executive VP, stated, "Our real estate pipeline is the strongest it’s been in 20 years. We aim to save families up to 25% on groceries."
The company's 2024 plan includes 12 new clubs and 15 gas stations. Werner noted the stores are seeing strong sales and member engagement.
BJ's operates in 20 states with 244 clubs and 175 gas stations. CEO Bob Eddy emphasized the value clubs offer, especially now.
He said, "This is clubs’ time. We're focused on value and expanding our reach." Earlier, BJ's reported having over 7 million members.
