O.J. Simpson Lawyer Disputes Simpson Family's Claims Regarding the Football Star's Death

Last week, O.J. Simpson's family announced his death on April 10, surrounded by loved ones. The former football star was 76 years old.

Malcolm LaVergne, Simpson's longtime lawyer, revealed that he was nearly alone at the end, accompanied only by a close family member. Details on who was present at the time of death remain undisclosed.

Simpson left behind four children, aged between 35 and 55. He also mourned the loss of another daughter who passed away just before turning two.

Two of his children, Sydney, 38, and Justin, 35, were from his marriage to Nicole Brown Simpson. Simpson was famously acquitted in the murder case of Nicole Brown Simpson in a trial that captivated the nation and tarnished his reputation.

LaVergne shared, “At first they shared good O.J. Then, in 1994 on, they kind of had to share bad boy O.J. with the world. But at the end of the day, these children just lost a father.”

Following his death, Simpson was cremated at a downtown Las Vegas mortuary. While others were present, their identities have not been disclosed.

LaVergne recalled spending quality time with Simpson a few weeks before his passing. He described Simpson as "awake, alert and chilling," lounging with a beer and watching TV.

A week after their last meeting, LaVergne saw Simpson for the final time. Despite his declining health, Simpson was watching golf and staying hydrated.

Simpson's health rumors started in February when he was reportedly treated for prostate cancer. He laughed off rumors of being in hospice in a video posted on February 9.

His final public statement was a Super Bowl prediction, mistakenly backing the San Francisco 49ers to win.
