North Carolina Rioter Lights Self on Fire

A rioter in North Carolina appeared to set himself on fire while trying to set the Market House in Fayetteville, NC on fire, according to a video shown on social media.

The video, which was live-streamed, shows a rioter attempting to light the Market House on fire. You can hear other protesters saying "Get him out! Get him out!" when they realize he has caught himself on fire.

The Market House was eventually caught on fire along with an American flag out front of it. The protesters shattered the windows while chanting "Black Lives Matter."

Police sent a civil service response unit to the area to "protect people, property and businesses.”

“They’re trained to react to crowd control/violence,” said police.

“Around 10:15 p.m. protesters went to Cross Creek Mall and gathered in the parking lot. Some items were looted from the JCPenney before police showed up and stopped the looting,” notes CBS 17.
