Soon, McDonald’s patrons can expect additional options for their dipping sauces.
For a brief period, select McDonald’s outlets in the U.S. will introduce two new flavors for dipping: Sweet & Spicy Jam Sauce and Mambo Sauce. The revelation about these additions was made on Tuesday.
Tariq Hassan, McDonald’s USA Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer, commented that the company "gets inspiration for the food our fans love by exploring the incredible taste and flavors found in communities across the country." The latter sauce, in particular, takes cues from the popular sauce associated with the District of Columbia and Chicago.
Starting Oct. 9, these sauces will be available throughout the U.S. "while supplies last," according to McDonald’s. The company highlighted its extensive U.S. network, encompassing approximately 13,500 locations.
McDonald’s encourages its customers to pair these sauces with a variety of their offerings.
Describing the new flavors, McDonald’s characterized the Sweet & Spicy Jam as a "jammy red pepper sauce" infused with apple cider vinegar, Szechuan peppercorn, and cayenne pepper. As for the Mambo sauce, it possesses "tomato-based, sweet, spicy and vinegary" tastes.
Additionally, McDonald’s has made various menu updates this year.
Just last week, Spicy Chicken McNuggets made a comeback on the McDonald’s menu. Earlier in August, the Peanut Butter Crunch McFlurry was introduced. Both these items were available for a limited duration.
