The renowned sports commentator and radio presenter, Dan Patrick, revealed on his program, "The Dan Patrick Show," this Wednesday that he intends to hang up his hat in four years. That was the moment when he let slip the big news — he will continue for four more years.

Sure, I understand. He's with us for another four years. Yet, we all know how quickly those years will zip past.
Despite being an announcement of his impending retirement, it carries a certain melancholy. Growing up, I was captivated by Dan Patrick's commentary on ESPN and SportsCenter, his coverage of an array of sports events, and not to forget his appearances in films. Patrick is undeniably a legend who influenced my journey into sports journalism, which eventually became my career.
I'm going to treasure these coming four years. Dan, I appreciate all you've given us. Don't hesitate to reconsider your decision.
