Podcaster Joe Rogan called out left-wing media for losing viewers, claiming many Americans are fed up with their bias.
On his podcast, Rogan discussed a recent op-ed by Amazon founder and Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos titled, "The hard truth: Americans don’t trust the news media." Rogan summarized it, saying, "Essentially, you have to take divergent viewpoints, a bunch of different perspectives. We can't just be this left-wing echo chamber, and it's why the business is faltering."
Rogan argued that Bezos’ observations are evident across the media landscape. “I was just reading something about CNN's ratings and MSNBC's ratings post-election - they've crashed," Rogan said on Wednesday’s episode. "All these left-wing kooks on YouTube are hemorrhaging subscribers. People are saying, 'You guys are out of touch, you're not accurate, you're delusional.' And they’re speaking with their subscriptions and their purchasing decisions."
He referenced the New York Times’ recent fact-check of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s claim about a popular breakfast cereal. "The New York Times just debunked - in the most insane way - RFK Jr's assertion that Froot Loops in Canada and the U.S. have different ingredients. They fact-checked it while saying he was accurate. It’s so dumb when you see the fact - I tweeted it."
Rogan mocked the fact-check further. "It says it’s not correct, they have the same ingredients… except for these harmful chemicals. F---ing dangerous chemicals banned in Canada that we’re trying to get rid of in America. They’re literally saying he was wrong, but he was right."
"That made my brain hurt just reading it," one guest chimed in. Rogan responded, "That’s the New York f---ing Times. Of course, you’re going to hemorrhage subscribers. You’re crazy, saying something nuts, and also… What is your motivation?"
He questioned the motives behind such reporting. "If these things are banned in other countries for being dangerous, what’s your motivation for saying he was wrong?" he wondered aloud. One guest suggested money. Rogan asked, "What else could it be?" and listed possibilities like ideology.
Rogan suggested left-wing rejection of RFK Jr. stems from his perceived connection to Trump. "Now 'he's connected to Trump, which is connected to Nazis,'" Rogan said. "You go down this f---ing weird rabbit hole, and you’re like, ‘What are you trying to do? Remove all leftover credibility?'”
"Are you trying to kill all credibility? Are you secretly working for the Chinese? Like, what are you doing?" Rogan questioned, concluding his fiery critique.
