Jennifer Love Hewitt Claps Back at Fans Talking About Her Face

Jennifer Love Hewitt responded to fans who commented that she looked "unrecognizable" following the use of a filter.

The 44-year-old actress featured in the December 5 episode of the "Inside of You" podcast, where she talked about the difficulties associated with aging in her line of work.

"Aging in Hollywood is really hard. You can't do anything right," remarked the star of "I Know What You Did Last Summer."

Hewitt recounted posting a video in August where she was getting her hair styled, which unexpectedly sparked criticism. "I had not a stitch of makeup on. So, I threw on a filter. I really gave it no thought," she said. She further noted that this led to comments from people stating, "‘Jennifer Love Hewitt is unrecognizable.' 'She's unrecognizable, so she's gone to filters because she doesn't want us to know how bad she actually looks now in her 40s.'"

Back then, the actress from "Heartbreakers" attempted to humorously respond to the reactions to her photo. She did this by uploading images on her Instagram Story using playful, exaggerated cartoon filters, including one that transformed her appearance to resemble that of a child.

"So many people said I look different," she captioned the photos, which she posted in September. "I look the same as always. Couldn't look more natural … Filters don't change you that much."

Hewitt addressed rumors about her having undergone a brow lift. "Hi. I don't usually do this, but I've had a lot of people lately say that I've had a brow-lifting procedure. I didn't even know you could lift your brows like that," she expressed in an Instagram Story video. She clarified, "The only thing that I've done is microblading with Audrey, who I love," acknowledging her technician Audrey Glass.

On the "Inside of You" podcast, Hewitt mentioned that using "over the top" filters on her photos resulted in further criticism from fans who accused her of promoting unrealistic beauty standards.
