Jen Psaki Suggests Biden Alternative But Fears America is Too 'Sexist and Racist'

MSNBC host Jen Psaki says Vice President Kamala Harris is the best candidate to replace President Biden. She believes Harris is a strong campaigner and communicator. Psaki also mentioned the country's "sexist" and "racist" tendencies.

Psaki shared her thoughts during a Wednesday interview on the "Pod Save America" podcast. She defended Harris from claims she's too unpopular. "There’s a lot of really amazing Democrats on the bench," she said. "But I think it is clearly Kamala Harris."

She added a theory on why Harris isn’t more popular. "It’s almost like public opinion hasn’t caught up with what she is doing out there," Psaki noted. "We live in a country that is sexist and racist."

These comments come as Democrats urge Biden to step aside after a poor debate with Trump. Psaki criticized Biden’s performance, calling it "a bad debate." She stressed the importance of discussing what happens next.

Psaki has voiced concerns about Biden's future. She warned Democrats, "the clock is ticking" on deciding whether to replace him. During her chat with Lovett, she discussed alternatives, stating Harris is "very clearly" the best option.

Psaki expressed confusion over Harris’ lack of popularity. "I don’t know why there hasn’t been kind of an overwhelming ‘Kamala would be a great president,’" she said.

She clarified her warning about sexism and racism. "Not everybody at all," Psaki stated. "But there is a level of it that does impact elections."
