End of an Era: Costco Plans to Remove Item From Food Court Menu

Costco Wholesale is reportedly considering removing the churro from its food court offerings, as indicated by discussions among social media users.

Speculation regarding this modification began circulating on Reddit, as reported by The U.S. Sun.

A user in proximity to the Goleta, California, location shared, "My brother (Costco employee) just told me they were getting rid of the churros at the food court and replacing them with cookies."

Presently, these twisted, cinnamon-sugar coated dough treats are available for $1.49 at the club's food courts.

"It is true. They have found a company to make the cookies, agreements are finalized. They will be showing up in early 2024, along with chocolate ice cream which will appear before summer," the Reddit user shared.

The prospect of the churro no longer being available as a dessert choice has elicited a range of reactions in the post's comment section.

One Reddit user expressed a critical view, stating, "They taste like sugar cardboard. They should phase them out and replace them with pretzels."

In contrast, a different user shared their fondness for the treat, replying, "[I] hope not. thats my fav treat there for 20 years. i WILL complain."

While some users believe the food item won't be greatly missed, others argue that it was more delicious before the COVID-19 pandemic or when an earlier recipe was used.

Additionally, there are suggestions for the retail behemoth to reintroduce soft pretzels or other types of sweet snacks.
