Details of Trump Admin's AI Strategy Revealed Ahead of Highly Anticipated Speech

The Trump administration has unveiled the details of its long-anticipated artificial intelligence (AI) strategy. This rollout comes just hours ahead of President Trump’s scheduled speech, where he is also expected to sign at least one executive order tied to the U.S. AI race.

Key figures in the administration shared the strategy Wednesday morning during a background call with reporters. Michael Kratsios, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and AI adviser David Sacks, outlined a three-pillar plan centered on workers, speech, and security.

“We want to center America’s workers, and make sure they benefit from AI,” Sacks said during the call. That’s the first pillar—making AI serve the interests of U.S. workers.

The second pillar takes aim at ideological bias in AI systems. “We believe that AI systems should be free of ideological bias and not be designed to pursue socially engineered agendas,” Sacks stated. He emphasized the importance of keeping AI “truth-seeking and trustworthy.”

The third pillar focuses on safety and national security. “We believe we have to prevent our advanced technologies from being misused or stolen by malicious actors,” said Sacks. That includes keeping an eye on emerging threats and risks from AI.

Trump is expected to lay out more details in a primetime address Wednesday evening. White House staff have described it as a major speech, positioning AI as the next “industrial revolution.”

Back in January, Trump had ordered his team to develop this strategy. The goal was to ensure the U.S. remains the global leader in AI and to “secure a brighter future for all Americans.”

The deadline for delivering that strategy was Tuesday. Now, with the plan in hand, the administration says it’s ready to boost innovation while protecting American values and national interests.
