A Democrat Congresswoman who incorrectly thought she was "off the record" may have just given away what President Joe Biden's plans are for 2024.
In a New York Times interview, Eleanor Randolph of the Times editorial board asked Democratic Rep. Carolyn Maloney of New York if President Biden should run it back in 2024.
“Off the record, he’s not running again,” Maloney said, extremely confidently. Except there's one problem. She was 100% most definitely on the record.
Jyoti Thottam, another member of the editorial board, let Maloney know that she was, in fact, very much on the record.
“On the record? No, he should not run again,” Maloney said.
Then the backpedaling began. Despite her making it known there's zero doubt in her mind he's not running again, she began praising Biden's work and talking about how she would definitely vote for him if he runs again.
“Mr. President, I apologize,” Maloney said while looking directly into the camera. “I want you to run. I happen to think you won’t be running, but when you run or if you run, I will be there 100 percent."
You're not fooling anyone, Carolyn. Carry on...
“You have deserved it. You are a great president and thank you for everything you’ve done for my state, and all the states, and all the cities in America. Thank you, Mr. President.”

Talk about an awkward and failed attempt at damage control. The damage is done. In her mind, there's no chance President Biden runs in 2024 and she would know since she's an active Congresswoman and all.
We've all watched Biden struggle through his first two years as president. Many of us didn't think he would make it this far, but here we are. He can attribute at least some of his staying power to having a Vice President that NO ONE wants to see leading our country.
So if she's so confident Biden isn't running in 2024, then who the heck is going to lead the Democratic Party? Pete Buttigieg, even with the supply chain he is leading in complete disarray, appears to be getting a push from the Democratic Party.
