Country Musician Calls Out Mom for Diving Into His Halloween Candy Bowl

Country artist Cody Tate from Whiskey Myers took to Instagram to express his dismay after a viral video showed a band of adults, accompanied by children, clearing out a bowl of Halloween candy at his doorstep. The footage, caught by his security camera, depicts the adult women grinning as they spearhead the group in seizing the sweets from his Texas home.

Tate, anticipating a night of festive trick-or-treating, had generously filled a sizable black bowl with candy, only to be stunned by the sight of the group greedily monopolizing the entire stash in a single sweep.

The Instagram video, which has attracted close to 340,000 views so far, captures at least three women descending upon the Halloween candy stash. In the footage, two of the women are seen eagerly filling their bags with the treats, while another distributes them to the children, dressed in costumes, before she boldly loads her own hooded sweatshirt with more sweets, even pausing to look at the camera before continuing her haul.

The children join in on the candy collection, and shortly after, a man appears, helping himself to the goodies as well. Before they depart, the women make sure to gather any candy that has dropped to the ground, and the man makes a final check to ensure nothing is left in the bowl.

"And this is why you can’t trust people," Tate captioned the clip.

"If you know who it is share. I figured it would happen but not adults. Now all the kids after these people can’t have any candy."

Before sharing the video footage, Tate had uploaded an image showing the basket brimming with treats. Attached to his front door was a sign that cheerfully instructed, "Please take 1, Happy Halloween!! Go Rangers!!"

The evening did end on a brighter note, as Tate shared a later clip featuring one of his neighbors refilling the bucket with candy.

"There are still good people out there! Neighbor Scott for Halloween MVP!" Tate captioned the video on his story.
