Charlie Sheen Admits President Trump Was Right About His Doomed Marriage

Donald Trump once tried to stop Charlie Sheen’s marriage to Brooke Mueller — advice Sheen now admits her parents should have taken.

"It was a trip. I didn’t know Trump was in the [Netflix] doc," Sheen told Fox News. "I saw it and I called the director. I was like, ‘That’s the coolest thing ever.’ I was like, ‘Whoa!’ And newsflash – they should have heeded his advice."

In the new Netflix documentary aka Charlie Sheen, several voices spoke out against the union, including Trump. A clip from a 2011 ABC interview showed Trump recalling what he told Mueller’s parents. "Brooke is from Palm Beach, and I told the parents, ‘Don’t let your daughter marry him. I think he’s wonderful, but he’s a disaster. Don’t let your daughter marry him.’"

Sheen met Mueller after splitting from Denise Richards in 2006. A year later, they were engaged. But the engagement sparked concern from friends and family.

Jon Cryer, Sheen’s Two and a Half Men co-star, said he couldn’t make the wedding but his wife did. "My wife called me afterward and said, ‘Oh my God. I have concerns,’" Cryer recalled. The biggest red flag came from Martin Sheen himself. "He apparently stood up, said, ‘I hope you two know what you’re doing,’ and sat back down. That was the entirety of Martin Sheen's toast."

The marriage was rocky from the start. In 2009, twins Bob and Max were born six weeks premature, needing a long hospital stay. Sheen said trying to balance their care with his hit show fueled "a ton of resentment" toward the series for not giving him time off.

Then came the relapse. "I remember the night that nine years of no crack came to a tumbling, spectacular close," Sheen admitted in the film. He described hearing Mueller and a friend using drugs in the bathroom and storming in. "If you’re going to do this s--- in my house, you need to stop wasting it, and you need to do it properly. Let me show you how to cook this s--- up. And it was on."

Things spiraled. On Christmas Day 2009, Sheen was arrested for allegedly holding a knife to Mueller’s throat and threatening to kill her. Their divorce became official in 2011.
