California Governor Plows Through Small Chinese Child in Game of Pickup Basketball

Yep, you read that right. California Governor Gavin Newsom got physical in a game of basketball with a small Chinese child.

During a friendly basketball game in China, California Gov. Gavin Newsom was recorded in a video where he accidentally collided with a local child while attempting a play.

The video clip, circulated by RNC Research, affiliated with the Republican National Committee, depicts the California governor displaying his basketball prowess. In the process, he unintentionally bumped into a child defending him.

Both Newsom and the boy momentarily lost their balance, falling to the ground. As they stood up, the governor embraced the child in a light-hearted manner, reassuring him with a friendly pat on the back.

During Newsom's week-long visit to China, he had a meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping in Beijing on Wednesday. Earlier in the week, Newsom mentioned to journalists that the aim of his journey was "turning the page, of renewing our friendship and reengaging (on) foundational and fundamental issues that will determine our collective faith in the future."

Following their discussion, in a press briefing, Newsom shared that he and Xi talked about methods to "accelerate our progress on climate in meaningful and substantive ways," as reported by CBS News.

Additionally, Newsom noted that the conversation with the Chinese leader covered the topic of fentanyl, a lethal drug linked to numerous deaths in the U.S., which frequently originates from China before making its way to North America.
