The Boston Red Sox have joined the "Black Lives Matter everywhere you turn on sports" movement. There is a 250-foot Black Lives Matter billboard adjacent to Fenway Park.
The billboard faces the Massachusetts Turnpike. It was placed on the 61st anniversary of the first black player on the Boston Red Sox, Elijah "Pumpsie" Green.

Major League Baseball is set to start their season Thursday night. Sam Kennedy, the president and CEO of the Red Sox, has been very outspoken on social injustice during the nationwide protests.
"Please know we stand with you,'' Kennedy wrote in a statement on the team's website under the title, "Social Justice, Equity and Inclusion."
"Silence in the face of injustice is unacceptable," he added, per The Hill.
The MLB has also joined in on the kneeling during the exhibition games. While professional baseball is late to the party, it appears they're making up for lost time.

Thursday night the World Series Champion Washington National host the New York Yankees in the season opener.
