President Donald Trump has chosen his side in the Super Bowl halftime showdown. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed on Thursday that the President plans to skip the official show. Instead, he will tune in to Turning Point USA’s "All-American" alternative.
The official NFL halftime show features Grammy winner Bad Bunny in Santa Clara. However, many conservatives have criticized the choice as "woke" due to the artist's anti-ICE rhetoric. Leavitt told reporters that the President "would much prefer a Kid Rock performance over Bad Bunny."
The alternative show is headlined by Kid Rock, a vocal supporter of the President. He will be joined by country stars Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett. The event is being billed as a celebration of "faith, family, and freedom."
TPUSA organized the rival broadcast specifically to challenge the NFL's "woke" trajectory. Kid Rock described the competition as a "David and Goliath" situation against the "pro football machine." He promised to play "great songs for folks who love America" during the stream.
While the President has picked his music, he is not picking a team for the game. The New England Patriots will face the Seattle Seahawks for the championship title. Leavitt, a New Hampshire native, broke the administration's neutrality by rooting for the Patriots.
The "All-American Halftime Show" will air simultaneously with the official broadcast on Sunday. It will be available on platforms like X, YouTube, and Rumble. The NFL maintains that Bad Bunny was chosen to unite a global audience through his creativity.
