Actress Taryn Manning offered a comprehensive apology after earlier posting and then removing a graphic video that revealed her relationship with a married man.
The ex-"Orange is the New Black" actress contemplated her choice to publicize her story when the video drew significant attention on the internet, acknowledging her regret.
"Over the past few days, I've had some time to reflect on the situation I've been dealing with. I was deeply hurt and opted to address things on a public stage rather than resolving them privately with the backing of my loved ones. I felt immense guilt after unveiling everything and considered maybe the best way forward would be to claim I fabricated everything, but that is not the truth," she shared on Instagram.
"I entered into a relationship with a man who was married and assured me he'd leave his spouse," Manning emphasized. "Ultimately, I discovered that it wasn't a reality. I hold myself to standards of decency and kindness. I acknowledge my mistake, yet love can lead us astray," she said.
"I regret making my situation public; however, I don't regret the way I love. I aspire to connect with someone who values me as much as I value them. A wholesome love. A love not so blinding that it compels me to lose myself," Manning further stated.

"This was a profound realization for me. With all this said, I am asking everyone to please give me my privacy so I can heal and mend my heart. Thank you," she ended.
When Fox News Digital reached out for a statement, Manning's representative didn't provide an immediate response.
At 44, Manning is widely recognized for her role as Tiffany "Pennsatucky" Doggett in the Netflix hit "Orange is the New Black," which aired between 2013-2019. She showcased her acting prowess in "8 Mile" alongside Eminem and has also made her mark as a recording artist.
Historically, Manning has been transparent about her battles with sobriety and has faced multiple legal challenges.
She made headlines in 2016 when she filed a lawsuit against the city of New York, demanding $10 million. As reported by Entertainment Tonight, she claimed she had been wrongly arrested due to allegations of making criminal threats against a woman she previously had a restraining order against.
Entertainment Tonight also mentioned that, not long before her lawsuit against New York City, Manning faced accusations of physically assaulting her makeup artist.
