Fans of the TV show "Wheel of Fortune" really care about the game. They often have strong opinions. But one player, named Tarhea, got a lot of negative comments for not solving a puzzle.
In a recent show, Tarhea won and went to the final round. She chose "Food and Drink." The puzzle was "BAGELS & ___G_N_TS." Tarhea guessed "bagels and beignets" and "bagels and croissants." But the right answer was "bagels and doughnuts."
The host, Pat Sajak, tried to comfort Tarhea. He said many shops spell it differently. But he didn't finish his sentence because Tarhea was upset.
Pat then checked the prize she missed. It was a BMW. Tarhea was very disappointed. She stomped her feet. But she still won $25,898 in cash from the game.
Sajak felt sorry that Tarhea didn't win the big prize. But the fans of "Wheel of Fortune" were not so nice about it.
"BAGELS AND BEIGNETS OVER BAGELS AND DOUGHNUTS? ARE YOU F---ING MAD," one viewer wrote on X.
Another said, "She missed Bagels & Doughnuts. Where do they find these people?"
"Did anyone see that chick on wheel of fortune?" another social media post read. "She had a BMW right there and couldn’t say Bagels and doughnuts. I was screaming at my f---ing TV, poor chick."
One person shouted in all caps, "IT WAS BAGELS AND DOUGHNUTS YOU MORON HOW DID YOU GET IT WRONG OMG."
Pat Sajak pointed out something interesting. Tarhea's loss was the fourth time in one week where someone picked the BMW prize but didn't win it.
