A 25-year-old woman from Washington was arrested for allegedly setting five police vehicles on fire during the George Floyd riots in Tacoma.
According to U.S. Attorney Brian Moran, Margaret Aislinn Channon faces federal arson charges connected to the incident.
“This defendant was captured by multiple cameras using an accelerant, lit like a blowtorch, to start fires in five vehicles,” Moran said in her statement, per Fox News.
The incident happened in Seattle on May 30th. Since then demonstrators have moved into the surrounding neighborhood from where the incident happened. It has since been called the "Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone."
According to the criminal complaint, Channon was able to be identified because of her eyebrows.
Another photo where she has her hands up shows tattoos on her knuckles and the photos from the incident match this feature and others up to her social media photos.
If convicted, federal arson faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
