VP Harris Mocked for Botching Pledge of Allegiance: 'What an embarrassment'

Social media users slammed Vice President Kamala Harris for seemingly botching the Pledge of Allegiance in the U.S. Senate on Friday.

Before swearing in senators for the 119th Congress, Harris led the pledge but stumbled over the iconic opening words. Instead of saying, "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America," she started with, "I pledge allegiance to the United States," before catching herself and continuing with the group.

The moment quickly went viral, with users on X mocking her misstep.

Clay Travis from Outkick.com commented, "Kamala Harris just screwed up the pledge."

Johnny Maga, a pro-Trump account, reacted, "HOLY SMOKES. Kamala just screwed up the pledge of allegiance on the Senate floor. What an embarrassment to this country." He added, "Tens of millions of Democrats voted for this woman to be president just weeks ago…"

Conservative user Mike Engleman chimed in, saying, "Kamala Harris made word salad with the Pledge of Allegiance, lol," referencing her history of verbal blunders.

Collin Rugg of Trending Politics wrote, "JUST IN: Kamala Harris appears to forget the Pledge of Allegiance during the swearing-in ceremony for new senators. This woman is a heartbeat away from being the president."

Comedian and commentator Terrence K. Williams added, "Kamala Harris doesn’t know the Pledge Of Allegiance. This woman really wanted to be President! It’s actually embarrassing that the Vice President doesn’t know the Pledge of Allegiance."

Libs of TikTok sarcastically remarked, "OMG. Kamala just messed up saying the Pledge of Allegiance. Thank God Trump won."
