Viral Costco Container Flies Off Shelves Despite Mixed Reviews

Costco customers are sparking discussions about a popular set of glass storage containers, which are quickly selling out. This trend is being fueled by social media users reacting to a viral Instagram video shared by an enthusiast of the wholesale retailer.

The "Ello Meal Prep Glass Food Storage Containers," a 10-piece set consisting of five glass containers and five leak-proof lids, has been gaining attention lately.

Each container is equipped with removable silicone bands for added protection against chips and breaks.

According to Costco's website, these containers are designed to endure oven temperatures up to 450°F and are also safe for microwave use, provided they are used without the lids.

The lid and container design of this product is ideal for meal preparation and various food storage needs, ensuring that the item is suitable for both refrigerator and freezer use.

"These 3.4 cup containers have different colored lids and silicone protection bases, so you can have fun keeping track of your prepped meals," Costco's website states.

The wholesaler has highlighted online that these storage containers are crafted from tempered glass, which is resistant to stains and odors. Additionally, the lids are designed to lock securely, aiding in maintaining the freshness of food for extended periods.

The retailer emphasizes that their storage containers are made from tempered glass, offering resistance to both stains and odors. Moreover, the containers feature lids that lock tightly, helping to preserve the food's freshness for longer durations.

"I've been wanting these [at] Costco where I live. Darn," one person responded to the viral Instagram video.

"These went so fast at my Costco!" one person said.

"They look so small for meal prep," another Instagram user pointed out.

"Worst brand ever! Breaks soooo easily," one man claimed.

Although the item is still available for purchase online, comments on the viral video indicate it's no longer in stock at all Costco stores. This Ello product is also available at Walmart, Amazon, and Target, with online prices varying between $26 and $40.
