On Wednesday, Angela Cole, girlfriend of former NFL player Peyton Hillis, gave a positive update on his health.
In an Instagram post featuring a slideshow of photos of the couple dancing, Cole announced that Hillis is making progress in his recovery.
"A hero," Cole wrote. "So proud of this man and so incredibly grateful for family and this incredible hospital. Peyton is off the ventilator and is on the road to recovery. Please continue to pray for he’s still got a ways ahead of him, but thank you for all of your prayers and love and support thus far. It truly makes all the difference. Today was a good day."

Earlier this week, WREG-TV reported that Hillis continues to struggle with kidney issues.
Last week, Hillis heroically rescued his children from drowning in Pensacola, Florida, but as a result, suffered lung and kidney damage and had to be airlifted to a local hospital.
Hillis, a 36-year-old former NFL player, was selected by the Denver Broncos in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft and played two seasons with the team. However, his breakout performance came during his time with the Cleveland Browns, where in 2010 he rushed for 1,177 yards on 270 carries and scored 11 touchdowns.

Hillis was coughing up sand and was put 100% on the ventilator, and his kidney are still not functioning normally.
