There's a new champion for cable news ratings. It's a Fox News program, but surprise, it's not Tucker Carlson Tonight.
The Fox News program "The Five" has been named the most-watched show on cable news with an average of 3.5 million viewers, per Nielsen data for 2022.

Tucker Carlston Tonight averaged 3.3 million viewers for the year, which is a 3% increase over 2021 when it was the most-watched cable news program.
The Five, which airs at 5 p.m. ET and 2 p.m. PT, had its audience increase by over 17%. It's the first non-prime-time show to finish the year as the top-ranked program.
According to Nielsen, the top five most-watched broadcast news shows are:

2. Tucker Carlson Tonight (3.62m)
3. Jesse Watters Primetime (3.1m)
4. Hannity (3m)

The cast of the show includes features conservatives Jesse Watters, Dana Perino, Jeanine Pirro and Greg Gutfeld along with a rotating chair shared by three liberal commentators, Jessica Tarlov, Harold Ford and Geraldo Rivera.
This makes the 21st consecutive year that Fox News was the most-watched cable news network. The network has an average of 1.49 million viewers, a 12% gain compared to 2021.
