Trump Sends Memorial Day Message to Those Trying to 'Destroy' The United States

President Donald Trump delivered a fiery and controversial Memorial Day message Monday morning, using the holiday to launch into a full-throated attack on political opponents, liberal judges, and border policies — in a post that quickly made waves online.

The all-caps tirade, posted to Truth Social, began with:

“HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY TO ALL, INCLUDING THE SCUM THAT SPENT THE LAST FOUR YEARS TRYING TO DESTROY OUR COUNTRY…”

Trump accused radical leftists of enabling what he called a national crisis, citing the entrance of 21 million illegal immigrants, including "criminals and the mentally insane," through what he described as an open border approved by an incompetent president — a clear reference to Joe Biden.

He went on to blast judges who he claimed were protecting violent criminals, referring to them as “USA HATING JUDGES” suffering from a “sick ideology.” He accused these judges of allowing “murderers, drug dealers, rapists, gang members, and released prisoners” to remain in the country, putting Americans at risk.

In the second half of the post, Trump urged the U.S. Supreme Court and “other good and compassionate judges” to step in and “save us from the decisions of the MONSTERS who want our country to go to hell.”

Despite the combative tone, Trump ended with a note of optimism:

“We have made great progress over the last 4 months, and AMERICA WILL SOON BE SAFE AND GREAT AGAIN!”

Just under an hour earlier, he had posted a more traditional message:

“HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!”

Trump’s post reflects his ongoing frustration with legal battles and judicial opposition slowing aspects of his agenda since returning to office earlier this year. While Memorial Day is traditionally reserved for honoring fallen service members, Trump used the moment to rally supporters, slam critics, and double down on his “America First” messaging.
