President-elect Donald Trump announced three new special envoys on Thursday to focus on promoting business in Hollywood.
"It is my honor to announce Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone, to be Special Ambassadors to a great but very troubled place, Hollywood, California," Trump shared on Truth Social.
Trump explained their mission was to restore Hollywood’s lost business. "They will serve as Special Envoys to me for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much business over the last four years to Foreign Countries, BACK—BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE!" he wrote.
Trump praised the trio, calling them "very talented people." He added, "They will be my eyes and ears, and I will get done what they suggest. It will again be, like The United States of America itself, The Golden Age of Hollywood!"
Sylvester Stallone, 78, has been vocal in his support for Trump. At the America First Policy Institute Gala in November, he compared Trump to George Washington.
"We are in the presence of a really mythical character. Nobody in the world could have pulled off what he pulled off, so I'm in awe," Stallone said. "Guess what? We've got the second George Washington. Congratulations!"
Mel Gibson, 69, also publicly backed Trump for the 2024 election. While at Los Angeles International Airport, Gibson took a swipe at Vice President Kamala Harris.
"I don't think it's gonna surprise anyone who I vote for," Gibson said in a video obtained by TMZ. When told Trump was a "bad guess," he quipped, "I think that's a pretty good guess."
Gibson didn’t hold back on Harris either. "I know what it'll be like if we let her in," he said. "A miserable track record, no policies, and she's got the IQ of a fence post."
Jon Voight, 86, another outspoken conservative, has long praised Trump. In 2019, he declared Trump the "greatest president since Abraham Lincoln" in a message shared on X.
"Don’t be fooled by the political left. Let us stand with our president, let us stand for this truth," Voight said. That same year, he received the National Medal of Arts, becoming its first recipient under Trump’s administration.
