Trump Erases More of Biden Era By Completely Updating Website Information

The Trump administration launched a revamped COVID.gov site Friday, spotlighting the "true origins" of the virus. The updated page slams Democrats, media outlets, and former officials for dismissing the lab leak theory and backing strict mandates.

"This administration prioritizes transparency over all else," a senior official told Fox News. "The American people deserve to know the truth about the COVID pandemic, and we will always find ways to reach communities with that message."

Previously focused on vaccines, the site now dives deep into the lab leak theory. It highlights Dr. Anthony Fauci’s role in backing a natural origin narrative and features Biden's pardon of Fauci. It also breaks down the roots of mask mandates and social distancing rules.

"'The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2' publication — which was used repeatedly by public health officials and the media to discredit the lab leak theory — was promoted by Dr. Fauci to push the preferred narrative that COVID-19 originated naturally," the site reads.

The site argues a key virus trait hasn’t been found in nature. It notes that Wuhan houses China’s top SARS lab and says if there were proof of natural origin, it would’ve emerged by now — but hasn’t.

A 2025 CIA report from the Trump administration backs the lab leak origin. In 2023, both the Department of Energy and former FBI Director Christopher Wray also pointed to the same theory.

COVID.gov now explains the roots of pandemic mandates. "The ‘six feet apart’ social distancing recommendation — which shut down schools and small business across the country — was arbitrary and not based on science," it states, quoting Fauci saying the rule "sort of just appeared."

On masks, the site claims officials “flip-flopped” and failed to provide science to back their guidance. "There was no conclusive evidence that masks effectively protected Americans from COVID-19," it states.

The info comes from the House Oversight Committee's Coronavirus Subcommittee. "Public health officials often mislead the American people... in a shameful effort to coerce and control the American people's health decisions," the site says.

Trump was mocked in 2020 for saying COVID likely came from a Wuhan lab. But since then, major outlets — including the New York Times — have acknowledged the theory is credible, admitting the public was misled.
