Former President Trump's campaign is touting a "unified" GOP at the Republican National Convention. They're contrasting this with President Biden's re-election troubles.
A Trump campaign official told Fox News, "We've shown the American people a unified Republican Party with President Trump’s agenda." They added, "Meanwhile, Democrats can’t even decide on their nominee."
These remarks come as Biden’s campaign refutes reports suggesting the president is considering dropping his 2024 re-election bid. Quentin Fulks, Biden's principal deputy campaign manager, stated, "Our campaign isn’t considering any scenarios without Biden at the top."
Fulks insisted, "The president has said it several times. He’s staying in this race." He added, "We look forward to him accepting the nomination in Chicago."
Biden faced criticism after a poor debate performance against Trump, raising questions about his ability to serve another term. Politically, Biden is under pressure from Democrats worried about losing the White House and Congress.
Reports claim top Democrats like Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi have urged Biden to reconsider his campaign. A Washington Post report indicated former President Obama advised Biden that his path to victory is shrinking.
A source close to Obama told Fox News, "Obama continues to be a sounding board and counselor for Biden. He believes Biden has been an outstanding President."
