A Canadian trans educator, known for donning sizeable Z-cup prosthetic breasts in the classroom, is said to be resuming teaching duties.
Kayla Lemieux claims to have "gigantomastia," described by the Cleveland Clinic as a "rare condition" in which one's breasts "become excessively large." Nonetheless, Lemieux, who previously identified as male, has been seen in public settings without the said prosthetics.
In the past year, Lemieux faced significant criticism while teaching at Oakville-Trafalgar High School in Canada and was subsequently given a paid leave. She is reportedly joining Nora Frances Henderson Secondary School in Hamilton for the next academic term, as per the Toronto Sun.
The Toronto-area #trans teacher who went viral for wearing large breast prosthetics is returning to teaching after being hired at a new school. Kayla Lemieux maintains the breasts are real and the Z-cup size is from a genetic condition. https://t.co/dPRH95yj1o

The Toronto Sun came across a memo from Principal Tom Fisher stating that the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board is committed to "an obligation to uphold individual rights and treat everyone with dignity and respect."
If the school faces "any disruptions or protests," the memo assures, "we are committed to communicating with you as openly and as frequently as possible to ensure student safety – and to share any operational plans."
Additionally, the Toronto publication mentioned that the principal is considering measures like "having students enter and exit the building using assigned doors at entry and dismissal" and "locking exterior doors during school hours, only using the front main doors during school hours" to address potential opposition.
The memo urged parents "to email or call before coming to the school if they wish to visit to speak to an employee" due to potential safety issues. While the principal didn't explicitly mention Lemieux, it was communicated to parents that an incoming educator had been "recently the subject of public attention, pertaining to their gender expression, while teaching at a school in a different community."
The Toronto Sun website ran a poll inquiring if "Lemieux should be returning to a high school classroom." Out of nearly 8,000 participants, 96% responded with "no" by Monday morning.
Furthermore, the principal emphasized that the school remains "committed to maintaining a professional environment that is safe, inclusive, and conducive to their learning," as reported by the Sun.
