Tiger Woods, who has won fifteen major championships, has returned to competitive golf and is enjoying himself during the process.
At the Genesis Invitational on Thursday, Woods participated in his first competitive round in seven months, finishing the day with a score of 2-under 69, which left him trailing the leaders by five strokes.
At the ninth tee, Woods hit a longer drive than Thomas, covering a distance of 323 yards compared to Thomas' 313 yards. The 47-year-old found a clever way to inform the 29-year-old about his achievement.

Following the round, McIlroy, who finished with a score of 4-under 67, commented that he would spend some time practicing at the range since Woods had outdriven him consistently.
"I'm going to go work on the range. I put my driver up a click in loft at the start of the week, I might have to turn it back down again," McIlroy said, per USA Today Sports. "I don't like him hitting it by me."
On Thursday, Woods concluded his day in impressive fashion by making birdie putts on the last three holes. He is now tied with 16 other golfers at 2-under par heading into the second round.
"I didn't want to be the idiot host to miss it right in front of everybody after I just went birdie-birdie," Woods said of his birdie putt on No. 18, according to ESPN. "It was a great round."
At 10:24 a.m. ET on Friday, Woods will commence his round alongside Thomas and McIlroy on the tee.
