Sara Haines is urging Democrats to cool it with the yelling and focus on real solutions. She says action matters more than noise.
Whoopi Goldberg brought up that leaders like Bernie Sanders and AOC are drawing crowds. She said leadership on the left feels wide open right now.
Goldberg also pointed out that Sanders isn’t ready to talk about the party’s future. In a recent ABC interview, he walked out after calling a question about AOC running for Senate "nonsense."
Sanders’ reaction followed rumors that AOC might challenge Chuck Schumer. That talk started after Schumer supported a funding bill with Republicans to avoid a shutdown.
"Bernie, AOC are out there," Goldberg said. "People are really kind of annoyed… maybe not everything, but much more than we were seeing perhaps in the media."
Ana Navarro jumped in. She said people are craving bold voices. "They want somebody that will lead them in that fight," she said, pointing to the massive rally crowds AOC and Sanders are drawing.
Sunny Hostin agreed that voters want a tough opposition. But she questioned the appeal of Sanders’ and AOC’s actual policies.
"I think their messaging is a little bit off," Hostin said. "People want to know how you address their pain. Taxing the rich won’t cut it."
Haines pushed back on all the noise. She wants solutions. "I don’t think just screaming and kind of performative ‘We’re gonna fight’ is the way to go," she said.
She praised Sen. Elissa Slotkin for being a pragmatist from a purple state. Unlike AOC or Bernie, Slotkin has to win over a mixed electorate.
"I love to hear you shout," Haines said. "But I’m much more the person that says, ‘Show me what that got you.’"
