During an interview with Fox News Channel's Chris Wallace, Republican Senator Ben Sasse ruffled some feathers when he declared that Afghan refugees being resettled in the United States are "welcome" in his neighborhood.
Sasse argued that Americans have an obligation to bring 60,000 to 80,000 Afghans over for permanent resettlement.
“We’re talking about heroes who fought with us to take the fight to Al Queda and the Taliban,” he said about the thousands of Afghans currently applying for Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs) and P-2 visas.
Sasse then blasted the Biden administration for not fast tracking their resettlement, "Number two, the administration has been way too slow to get people out of harm’s way. They can get them to Kuwait, they can get them to Qatar, they can get them to Bahrain, they can get them to Ramstein in Germany and sort through the larger processing and bureaucratic issues there."
Sasse also suggested he would like the Biden administration to resettle Afghans in his neighborhood, saying “when you fought on behalf of Americans to protect our people, you’re welcome in my neighborhood.”
Thus far, at least 10 Republican governors have urged Biden to resettle Afghans in their states, including South Carolina’s Henry McMaster, Maryland’s Larry Hogan, Massachusetts’ Charlie Baker, Utah’s Spencer Cox, Georgia’s Brian Kemp, Arkansas’ Asa Hutchinson, Arizona’s Doug Ducey, Iowa’s Kim Reynolds, Oklahoma’s Kevin Stitts, and Vermont’s Phil Scott.
Ohio Republican Senate candidate J.D. Vance has said the Biden administration ought to be focused on evacuating likely thousands of stranded American citizens out of Afghanistan before it even begins to vet Afghans for resettlement across the U.S.
Here is my message to Ben Sasse and other establishment Republicans who seem to care more about bringing 30,000 unvetted Afghan refugees into our country than getting our own people out safely. pic.twitter.com/PSfoc2swdC

“The question is not whether we honor our word, the question is who we made promises to, who do we owe an obligation toward,” Vance addressed Sasse in the video. “And to any leader in this country, the obvious answer should be American citizens. So let’s focus first on getting them out of Afghanistan before we say another word about the Afghan refugees."
I couldn't agree more. Get Americans out first.

Sen. Cruz: 'Pelosi is Drunk on Power' - Probably Vodka Too
On Thursday, Senator Ted Cruz slammed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on the Senate floor, declaring that she is drunk on power with her new mask mandates. Power isn't the only thing she is drunk on...I'd say there is some vodka in the mix too.
“Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts, absolutely. Great men are almost exclusively bad men, even where they exercise influence and not authority,” Cruz said, pulling from a series of letters to Bishop Craig from Lord Acton. He added that “those words were true in 1887, and they’re true today.”

He reads it, and then promptly wipes his chin. However, he then holds the note where the camera can see it at different points. Once, it even faces the camera directly.

Rep. Steve Scalise: Democrats are 'Throwing Science Out the Window'
On Friday, Rep. Steve Scalise declared that Democrats are ''throwing science out the window'' in regards to COVID and mask mandates.
''If you look at this, you know that the science is being thrown out the window a lot of times because a lot of these Democrats wanted the (COVID-related) shutdowns last year, they wanted to keep kids out of schools, and you see some of them trying to lay the groundwork for that to happen again. That can't happen again," he told Newsmax. ''The science says...
