President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Iran on Tuesday morning. He stated that the nation faces total devastation if a deal is not reached to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The President set an 8 p.m. ET deadline for the regime to agree to a ceasefire.
Trump shared the grave ultimatum in a post on Truth Social. "A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again," the President wrote. "I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will."
Despite the grim warning, Trump expressed some hope for a diplomatic breakthrough with the new Iranian leadership. "However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS?" he added.
The President emphasized the historical weight of the looming deadline. "We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World," Trump stated. He concluded his message by declaring that 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death will finally end while offering a blessing to the great people of Iran.
