President Trump Announces a New Addition to His Cabinet: 'A true fighter for America First policies'

Former New York Congressman Lee Zeldin has been chosen as President-elect Trump’s pick for EPA administrator.

Trump confirmed the announcement Monday afternoon, praising Zeldin’s strong legal background and his commitment to "America First" policies.

"Lee will ensure fair and swift deregulatory decisions," Trump said. "These will unleash the power of American businesses while keeping the cleanest air and water on the planet. He will set new standards for environmental review that will help the country grow in a healthy way."

Trump added that Zeldin has handled "extremely difficult and complex situations" and expressed confidence in his success at the EPA.

The New York Post first reported that Zeldin was selected to lead the agency.

Zeldin shared his excitement about the role on X, stating, "It is an honor to join President Trump’s Cabinet as EPA Administrator."

He continued, "We will restore US energy dominance, revitalize our auto industry, and make the US the global leader of AI."

Zeldin emphasized the importance of protecting access to clean air and water while pursuing these goals.
