Popular Grocery Chain Expands With Massive Push of 25 New Stores Across 14 States

Trader Joe's is rapidly expanding its national footprint. The popular grocer is planning 25 new locations across 14 different states. This massive move adds to the company's previously announced growth pipeline.

The California-based chain confirmed on Wednesday that nine additional stores are currently in development. This aggressive expansion brings the total slate of upcoming openings to more than two dozen. All of the new locations have been officially identified, though specific opening dates are still pending.

"We are proud to be joining the neighborhood, and to continue our commitment to providing nourishment to the surrounding communities through our Neighborhood Shares program," the company said.

The newest round of storefronts will span across eight states to bring more affordable grocery options to American families. The nine newly announced locations will be in Phoenix, Arizona, and Sarasota, Florida. Stores are also slated for Chicago, Illinois, Quincy, Massachusetts, and Farmington Hills, Michigan.

New York will see two new stores in Syracuse and Yonkers to meet growing consumer demand. University Heights, Ohio, and West Jordan, Utah, round out the current list of newly announced storefronts.

The other 16 previously announced locations are also moving forward. These highly anticipated storefronts will open in cities like Tucson, Arizona, and Anaheim Hills, California. Shoppers in Orlando, Florida, and Johns Creek, Georgia, will also gain access to the beloved grocery chain.

Additional storefronts are planned for Oswego, Illinois, Merriam, Kansas, and three separate cities in Louisiana. Stores in Reading, Massachusetts, West Orange, New Jersey, and Herriman, Utah, are currently in development as well. Two locations in Washington state will officially complete the list of 16 upcoming markets.

Details surrounding the store openings remain heavily limited beyond the officially listed addresses. Consumers are still waiting for information regarding store size, parking capacity, and specific inventory offerings. However, as of May 20, Trader Joe's successfully opened four new storefronts earlier this year in Connecticut, New York, Texas, and Washington.

The grocery chain is well known for its private-label products and affordable prices. Shoppers appreciate the upbeat experience as inflation continues to squeeze household budgets. Trader Joe's currently operates successful stores across 42 states and the District of Columbia.

A handful of states are still without a single Trader Joe's location. Residents in Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Montana, and North Dakota are currently missing out on the popular chain.
