Pelosi Defends Waters: ‘She Shouldn’t Apologize for Inciting Violence’

Numerous lawmakers are calling for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to remove Rep. Maxine Waters for her comments to Minnesota rioters, which incited violence by calling on them to “get more confrontational” if former officer Derek Chauvin is not convicted in George Floyd’s death.

Pelosi turned around and defended Waters, claiming that she should not apologize for her comments. Which is ironic considering she fought to impeach former President Donald Trump after he told protestors to go home and be peaceful. She and other Democrats falsely claimed that he incited violence when he did the exact opposite.

“No she doesn’t,” Pelosi said when CNN reporter Annie Grayer asked if Waters should apologize.

When asked if Waters’ comments would incited violence, Pelosi said “Absolutely not.”

They already did though. After Waters’ comments, two members of the Minnesota National Guard were injured in a drive-by shooting as they patrolled a local neighborhood.

On Saturday, Rep. Maxine Waters joined protestors outside the Brooklyn Center police station in Minnesota. She declared that former officer Derek Chauvin must be convicted in the death of George Floyd, or they will take matters into their own hands

Watch:

“We’re looking for a guilty verdict,” Waters said. “And we’re looking to see if all of the talk that took place and has been taking place after they saw what happened to George Floyd, if nothing does not happen, then we know that we’ve got to not only stay in the street, but we’ve got to fight for justice.”

She pressed on to say that a manslaughter conviction will not be enough. She wants a first-degree murder conviction.
